SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless Summary

If you are looking for a wireless gaming headset with top-level sound and comfort, it is hard to go past the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless.

SteelSeries offers a variety of gaming headphones, ranging from low-cost wired devices to high-end wireless bundles. The Arctis Pro Wireless is in the latter camp, with a hefty price tag but the performance, build quality, and features to back it up.

Strong build quality

This rugged headset features a suite of features that put it firmly in the bracket of best wireless gaming headsets.

The build quality is strong – its steel and aluminum-alloy construction is made to go the distance.

The ear pads, which are made from strong Airweave fabric are comfortable and interchangeable, meaning you can experiment with different options.

Snug fit

An elastic ‘ski-goggle’ headband helps this wireless headset fit snugly on your head, although the range of adjustment is not huge, which you should keep in mind if you have a larger head.

A flexible boom microphone delivers impressive recording quality and does a superb job of isolating your voice from background noise.

Controls are on the left ear, which could take some getting used to if you are right-handed, but it also means your right hand is free for game controls.

Excellent sound quality

The sound quality of the Arctis Pro Wireless is excellent, making it among the best wireless gaming headsets available.

One of its key features is DTS Headphone: X2tech which gives you clear and realistic surround sound while gaming. It makes it easy to pick out the direction and distance of footsteps, for example, when playing a game such as Fortnite.

Despite the excellent sound quality, we did find the Arctis Pro Wireless didn’t do such a good job at isolating you from background noise, but this shouldn’t be a problem if you are gaming in a quiet room.

Range of connection options

Connectivity will never be an issue with the Arctis Pro Wireless since you can go wireless, Bluetooth, or wired.

More specifically, this gaming headset features rock solid dual wireless technology with lag free 2.4G wireless lossless audio and Bluetooth mobile audio, combined with 40,000 Hz capable Hi-Res capable speaker drivers.

Dedicated transmitter

It also features a dedicated transmitter with its own screen for adjusting sources, EQ settings, and audio mixing without even touching your PC or console, and comes with two batteries (each providing 15 hours of run-time) so you never have to worry about plugging it in to charge. (While you are gaming you can have the second battery charging.)

The wired option means you can use this gaming headset with your smartphone and leave the transmitter at home.
